My Path to Cloud Foundry Approver - Marc Paquette, VMware Tanzu

Sign up or log in to save this to your schedule, view media, leave feedback and see who's attending!

In this session I will provide an overview of the process of going from zero to Approver in multiple Cloud Foundry areas over 18 months. I am going to highlight some of the challenges faced and areas of friction that may come up for people attempting to become contributors.
Some of the primary challenges were the following: Debating if a contribution was “Substantial” enough to be listed as one of my contributions. Working cross functionally among different area groups causing me to have to fill many buckets all at the same time. The shadow work of pipeline maintenance not being counted or difficult to quantify. Aggregating all my contributions, across over 100 potential repositories into a complete record of my contributions.

Ultimately I will show what a motivated individual can add to the community.
